Contains Preface to text by R. L. (Rusty) Schweickart, Astronaut, Apollo 9, NASA, Houston, pp.ix-xii.
Research for the text, Water Well Technology, was funded by the U.S. Office of Water Resources Research (part of EPA) and was first published in 1973 by McGraw-Hill. The book underwent 12 printings over 14 years with a distribution of more than 40,000 copies worldwide. It was the first systematic, research-oriented study of water well technology in light of the growing environmental concerns of the day. The authors received the prestigious Ohioana Book Award in 1975. (Non-Fiction).
A copy of the text’s original dust cover and fly cover containing a description of the text and a few of the early reviews have been included below for the reader’s inspection. Additional information can be reviewed concerning the senior author (via I2M Consulting, LLC). I2M serves the ground-water supply field (1), the environmental field (2), the mining field (3), and the legal community; see a review of selected, recent cases (4). The text’s cover, flap containing early reviews, table of contents, the first two chapters and other selected pages have been included in a PDF file (click here). Although now dated, the text provided the research needs for the time; many of the recommendations have long since been addressed, but others have not and await attention.
