SE Asian Mining & Environmental Evaluations

I2M Principals and staff were on the go in SE Asia in January. Jeffrey D. King, P.G., I2M’s President and CEO, and Stephen W. Duggan, I2M’s Construction Manager, have just returned from an extended visit to Cambodia where they are evaluating properties for possible acquisition and becoming familiar with the country’s mining and environmental laws and regulations.

I2M’s Chief Geologist, Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H. and I2M’s Senior Geologist, M. David Campbell, P.G., also just returned from a 10-day evaluation for a client of existing mines and associated geology in SE Asia that have historical production of gold, silver and base metals.

Campbell Elected Fellow of Geological Society of London

I2M’s President, Jeffrey D. King, P.G., announced today that in a communication from President Shilston of the Geological Society of London dated November 27, 2013, he announced that I2M’s Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H., Chief Geologist/Hydrogeologist, was elected a Fellow of the Society and subsequently named a Chartered Geologist during the General Meeting of the Geological Society of London (more). Mr. Campbell replied to President Shilston that he was indeed pleased to learn of the elections and intends to become active in the GSL’s Mineral Deposits Study Group, the Hydrogeological Group, and the Forensic Geoscience Group.

Campbell Elected European Geologist by the European Federation of Geologists

I2M’s Chief Geologist/Hydrogeologist, Michael D. Campbell, was recently elected as a European Geologist (#1132) by the European Federation of Geologists in Bruxelles, Belgium (more). Mr. Campbell indicated that he was pleased that he has been so honored by the EFG group, especially since I2M has expanded over the past 5 years as a world-wide consulting company which will increase I2M exposure to potential European, Middle Eastern, African, Asian, and Southeast Asian clients.

Wishbone Gold plc, an I2M Client, has just released encouraging exploration results on gold and copper prospects within the Wishbone II tenement in NE Queensland, Australia (more1, more2). He not only visited with family, but also met with personnel of The Department of Research and Development to advise them of the capabilities and experience of I2M Consulting, LLC in exploration programs, mining development programs, and associated environmental programs involved in industrial minerals (e.g., phosphate, potash, etc.), energy minerals (e.g., uranium, thorium and rare earths), and precious and base metal projects (e.g., gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc, and other commodities).

“The Antelope Farm” published by Senior Geological Associate

Publishing under the pen name of Vincenzo Spiaggi, one of I2M’s Senior Geological Associates, Bruce Rubin, has just announced the release of his new book, The Antelope Farm. This is his 10th novel, many of which have geological themes (here). He is a geologist, management consultant, novelist, journalist, fine arts photographer, and screenwriter. He has lived and worked professionally throughout the United States, in Canada and the Middle East.

Dr. Mustafa Saribudak, P.G. publishes in Bulletin of the South Texas Geological Society

Jeffrey D. King, P.G., President and CEO of I2M Associates, LLC in Seattle announced today that I2M’s Associate Geophysicist, Dr. Mustafa Saribudak, P.G. has just published a paper in the Bulletin of the South Texas Geological Society this month on how resistivity and natural potential (NP) methods together help to characterize subsurface geology (more).

Dr. Saribudak was also just appointed as Treasurer of the Austin Geological Society.

Campbell Elected Vice President, Eastern Texas – AIPG-TX

Jeffrey D. King, P.G., President and CEO of I2M Associates, LLC in Seattle learned today that Michael D. Campbell, I2M’s Executive Vice President and Chief Geologist/Hydrogeologist, has been elected to the Board of the Texas Section of the American Institute of Professional Geologists, (AIPG-TX) and will be serving as Vice President, Eastern Texas (more). Mr. Campbell has been a member and Certified Professional Geologist (CPG) since 1976, more than 37 years. Mr. Campbell said that “I have joined the new Board to help revitalize the Texas Section and to support the AIPG in its efforts on behalf of professional geologists throughout the U.S. and the World.”
