April 17, 2010 – A Press Statement was released today to the Houston Chronicle by I2M’s Chief Geologist and AAPG Energy Minerals Division President (2010-2011) Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H., and William Ambose, P.G. of the Bureau of Economic Geology (BEG) at the University of Texas, Austin and of the AAPG Astrogeology Committee that significant uranium and other mineral discoveries on the Moon have been reported by Japanese and American scientists which may indicate that a new space race has likely begun. Effective April 1, 2010 – Jeffrey D. King, P.G., President of I2M Associates, LLC, and sole owner, announced today the creation of a new company in Texas for the purpose of expanding the scope and coverage of his group’s current Seattle operations. He also announced that Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H. has joined the staff of I2M Associates as Vice President and Chief Geologist/Hydrogeologist for the new group based in Houston, Texas after serving almost 20 years as Managing Partner with M. D. Campbell and Associates, LP (C&A). Other C&A Associates have also migrated from C&A to join I2M Associates in the new venture (see Personnel).
October, 2009 – January, 2010 – Michael D. Campbell was interviewed on the CBS Radio’s Peter Cangelosi Show in Houston on the energy and environmental issues of the day, with emphasis on uranium exploration and fueling nuclear power. Later shows interviewed guests on renewable energy projects underway in the U.S., including lunar-derived solar power.

Campbell, P.G., P.H. reviewed available asbestos sampling data on a property redevelopment project for San Antonio Current and concluded that the sampling indicated no significant contamination. He suggested that precautions may be in order concerning disturbance of deeper soils and possible need to provide a clean-soil cover to limit airborne distribution.

The Author was the Principal Instructor at the Institute of Environmental Technology in Houston, Texas, USA. IET conducted training of Post-Graduate Geologists, Chemists, Biologists, Engineers, and others forced out from the oil and gas industry for entering the environmental consulting industry during the mid-1990s.
