IP ADDRESSES AND COOKIES
Like most websites, our website uses cookies and web beacons principally to enhance your viewing experience. A cookie is a piece of data that our website automatically transfers to the hard drive of your PC or mobile device when your browser accesses our website.
You can find out more about this type of technology through your internet browser. For example:
- If you use Internet Explorer click ‘Help’ on the toolbar and then search on ‘Cookies’ in the box which appears;
- If you use Safari click ‘Safari’ then ‘Preferences’ and then ‘Security’. You can then click ‘Help’ to learn more about cookies and the options your browser gives you; and,
- If you use Mozilla Firefox you can find out more here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences.
- You may refuse to accept cookies by changing the settings on your browser. However if you change the settings to refuse cookies you may be unable to access certain parts of the site. Unless you have adjusted your browser settings so that the browser refuses cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our site.
The system may also use web beacons which are similar but not identical to cookies in the way they operate. You can find out more about web beacons on Wikipedia here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_bug
If you are only browsing our website and have not logged in, we will not ask you to type in any personal information, but certain information – including device and connection information, browser type and version, operating system and platform details and the time of accessing the website – may be automatically collected. This technology helps us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalized service. It helps us to:
- Estimate our audience size and usage pattern;
- Store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customize our site according to your individual interests;
- Speed up your searches; and,
- Rrecognize you when you return to our site.
We occasionally carry out market research and business development. A third party might help us to do this and they may send a cookie or web beacon, but they are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business. Some advertisers may also use their own cookies but I2M has no access or control over these. Some third-party ad servers may allow you to opt out of anonymous data collection through the use of cookies. To do so you must opt out of such data collection with each individual website. The Network Advertising Initiative gateway opt-out site also allows for the possibility of opting out of cookies for several ad servers.
