Campbell Presents at Houston Geological Society’s Engineering and Environmental Group Dinner Meeting

Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H., I2M’s Chief Geologist/Chief Hydrogeologist gave a 90-minute presentation on independent assessments of mineral resources and associated environmental issues during the dinner meeting of the Houston Geological Society’s Engineering and Environmental Group in Houston, Texas.

The presentation discussed mineral deposits in Australia (gold, uranium, phosphate, and potash), Vietnam (gold), Texas (uranium), and Alaska (uranium, thorium, and rare earths).

The publication, Growth Faulting and Subsidence in the Houston, Texas Area, has been released after more than 10 years of research and discussions among the geological community in the Houston area (more), which is consistent with the goals of the IET Sponsored Research Program (more).

The Guide was produced by I2M’s Chief Geologist and Principal Hydrogeologist, Michael D. Campbell, P.G., P.H.; by I2M’s Project Manager & Mining / Environmental Geological Associate, M. David Campbell, P.G.; and by Henry M. Wise, P.G., Senior Geologist and Remedial Services Senior Specialist for SWS Environmental Services, in La Porte, Texas.

Wise, Senior Remediation Specialist of SWS Environmental Services of La Porte, Texas, made a presentation to a packed house at the May Dinner Meeting of the Engineering and Environmental Group of the Houston Geological Society.

The presentation was entitled: “Hydrogeologic Risks in the Groundwater Supply of Harris County, Texas: Radioactive Constituents, Natural Gas, & Growth Faults”.
