Thomas C. Sutton, Ph.D., P.G., Senior GeologistSENIOR MINING & ENVIRONMENTAL GEOLOGIST

Dr. Sutton was born near Minneapolis, Minnesota and has lived in Tennessee, Alabama, and in Texas since 1980. He has traveled extensively in Central and South America, including Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Panama. He received a Bachelor’s Degree, Magnum Cum Laude, in Latin American Area Studies in 1955, a Master’s Degree in Geology in 1963, both from the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Sutton has undertaken short courses in stable isotope studies at Penn State University and in ground-water hydrology and contamination at the Oklahoma State University.

Dr. Sutton has extensive industrial and academic experience. He has been employed by NL Industries, where he directed all mineral exploration activities in Central and South America. He also spent his early years serving a major oil and geophysical company. Dr. Sutton has taught at the University of Minnesota, University of Tennessee, Birmingham-Southern College, University of South Alabama, and until recently at the North Harris Community College.

He presently plays a significant role as Senior Environmental and Mining Geologist for I2M Associates, he serves in a variety of support functions, including property evaluations, reserve estimates, and associated activities.
